Rosalie "Dosie" Hosie, Jaeger, Schreiner was born June 27, 1934 at Elbowoods, ND to Wallace and Camille (Frederick) Hosie. She was raised and educated in Garrison, ND. Upon graduation in 1952, she attended the College of St. Benedict near St. Cloud, MN where she studied music. She then ventured off to California where she met her first husband, Leonard Jaeger. From this marriage 8 children were born.
Rosalie lived in Colorado for several years before moving back to Garrison. She worked hard at various jobs including substitute teaching at White Shield, ND, the Garrison Clinic, Farmers Union Elevator, and the Garrison Nursing Home.
In 1989, Rosalie married Arnie Schreiner. Following his retirement, they moved back to Garrison where they lived happily for 10 years until his death in 1999.
Mom was a beautiful, kind hearted person with a heart of gold! She always had a smile on her face and was caring and understanding to all who knew her. She was very devoted to her faith and was an active member of St. Ann's Altar Society. She also helped at the church and pushed patients to the chapel for mass at the Garrison Nursing Home. Rosalie had a magnificent soprano voice and she sang at many weddings and funerals. Our favorite songs that mom sang were, "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night". Her other interests were painting, sewing, going for rides in vehicles, and traveling with her family in her later years. She also loved to people watch.
