Ruth Wick, 97, Garrison, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in the Garrison Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born on Oct. 15, 1914, at North Branch, Mich., the daughter of Daniel Lewis and Anna Webb Lewis. She graduated from Capac High School in Michigan, then moved to Flint, Mich., where she furthered her education.
She married Elmer Stewart in 1936, in Flint. He was killed in World War II Battle of the Bulge on Christmas Day in 1944. She married Orville Wick in 1964 in Flint. After retirement they moved to Garrison. He preceded her in death, in 1981.
She retired from General Motors AC Spark Plug Research Department where she was employed as a secretary. She was honored in 1968 with a plaque in appreciation for her contribution to the firm. In 1971, she was named Secretary of the Month.
In Garrison, she was a life member of the Sakakawea Area Council for the Arts (SACA), and Fort Stevenson Foundation, a member of the First Congregational Church-UCC and Naomi Circle.
Ruth is survived by two grandnieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral: First Congregational Church-UCC, Garrison, on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m.
Burial: Garrison City Cemetery, Garrison.
