Shaunita Rae Haycock, 26, of White Shield, ND, received her wings on November 26, 2016. Shaunita was gorgeous, genuine, and kind spirited. To her, life was meant to be shared with family and friends full of laughter and love. She brought happiness to all who knew her and she was loved deeply. Shaunita was born in Jamestown, ND, on August 20, 1990 and brought joy to her parents Isaac Haycock Sr. and Susan Bear. She took pride in being the older sister to Isaac Haycock Jr and Brandi Haycock. Also, she enjoyed being the younger sister to Duane Bear.
Throughout her childhood she traveled with her family for her father's work. She made the best out of every moment and was a sweet child. She spent a lot of time making new friends and spending time with her many family members. There are countless memories that many will cherish from her childhood. Along with her family, she called Manchester, NH, home for multiple years until they relocated to White Shield, ND.
In 2012, she graduated from White Shield High School, of which she was Student Body President her senior year. After graduation, she discovered her passion for a variety of handy work. She gained experience from working on the White Shield Powwow grounds and other job sites. Shaunita was ambitious and held a new goal in mind. She wanted to obtain a CDL and heavy equipment license. In 2015, she attended United Tribes Technical College. Whenever she spoke of her hands on training, her eyes lit with excitement. She was anxious to finish her schooling to travel and gain even more experience. Ultimately, she had great work ethic and determination.
Shaunita was a part of the Younghawk/Bear Post 253 Ladies Auxiliary and attended multiple powwows. She was always willing to help and had fun during the process. Her hobbies included fishing, being outdoors, planning road trips, and cooking. One of her favorite places to visit was Monument Valley, UT, to visit her family and to enjoy the scenery. To those who had the pleasure of road tripping with Shaunita, they would know how memorable she made those adventures. Above all, we will remember Shaunita's beautiful soul and we will all miss her from the bottom of our hearts. We will forever be grateful to those who supported, cared for, and loved Shaunita.
