Sheldon Paulson, 40, White Shield, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Trinity Hospital in Minot. In consideration of CDC, North Dakota, and Mandan Hidatsa Arikara Nation COVID-19 guidelines, family and friends may pay their respects from 9-11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 1, 2020, at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison. (Only 8-10 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time; no children under the age of 10; social distancing guidelines will be observed; masks are required.) The procession to the Immaculate Conceptioin Cemetery west of White Shield will leave the funeral home at approximately 11:00 a.m. Please observe social distancing guidelines at the cemetery.
Sheldon Ray Paulson, 40 years old, passed away on July 29th, 2020 in Minot, ND. Sheldon was born on January 17th, 1980 in Stanley, ND to parents, Arthur Paulson III and Monica Fox. He attended school in New Town, ND and went on to Job Corps studying culinary arts in Minot, ND. He met Meredith Joy Sherman and together they welcomed four daughters into this world: Nycoy, Najai, Nytrice, and Nycembi.
Sheldon loved many genres of music. He was a self-taught guitar player. He learned how to play songs by ear as he enjoyed composing his own music. He enjoyed many things such as playing chess, Keno, reading, traveling, and meeting friends (both old and new). Sheldon had a humorous way of explaining things, his style of storytelling was engaging that brought smiles and laughter to many loved ones. The kindness and generosity of Sheldon left an incredible mark on his loving heart, his intelligence, and creativity were the tools he used to help out his fellow man. He approached life without assumption, instead with an open mind and heart. Sheldon was known to be a peace maker, a great listener, a jokester, and an encouraging cherished friend. In addition, Sheldon was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend to all.
Sheldon is survived by his daughters, Najai, Nytrice, and Nycembi Paulson, Fort Totten, ND; mother, Monica K. Fox-Lyson, New Town, ND; sisters, Winona (George) Goodleft, New Town, ND, Heather Belgarde, New Town, ND; aunts, Susan Paulson, New Town, ND, Alice Norbomm, Soquel, CA, Zandra Ziebart (Curt) Four Bears, ND, Teresa Star, Four Bears, ND, Carmen Fox, Garrison, ND, Jolene Fox-Burr, Garrison, ND, Ardella Fox, New Town, ND; numerous Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Brothers and Sisters-In-Law, Uncles, Jeff Fox, Orville (Vickie) Fox.
He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Nycoy, brother, Christopher Larson, father, Art Paulson III, maternal grandparents, Olivia Two Crow-Grandmother, George "Chubby" Fox Jr., paternal grandparents, Vivian Packineau Paulson, Art Paulson Jr., uncles, Darryl "Poncho" Two Crow, David "Fish" Fox, Gerald Fox, Aunt, Jody Fox-Gorman, cousin, Coulee D.
