Tanya Hummel Cox, 40, Dickinson, formerly of Garrison, died Tuesday, July 19th, 2011 in her home. Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 1st, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison, ND.
Tanya was born May 2nd, 1971 at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo, ND to Peggy Hummel Moran. She graduated from Garrison High School in 1989. During her school years she was active in basketball, cheerleading and the dance team. She was also active in girls softball. She once lived in Bottineau and was a DJ at Sunny 101.9.
While living back in Garrison, she worked at the Garrison Nursing Home. When she moved to Minot, she worked at ProMark and ING along with many waitressing jobs.
She was once married to James Ferderer. During their marriage, they were blessed with two children, James (JC) and Anna. She was married to Travis Cox and they were blessed with two boys, Gage and Braydon. At the time of her death, she was working at Perkins in Dickinson.
Tanya was a person who had a free spirit and loved to be around people. Her family and children were very important to her.
Tanya is survived by her children James (JC) Ferderer and Anna Ferderer of Cottage Grove, MN, Gage and Braydon Cox of Dickinson; husband, Travis Cox of Dickinson; mother and stepfather, Peggy and Frank Moran of Minot; sisters, Amy Fredrickson of Bottineau and Sierra Moran of Minot; brother, K.C. Moran of Minot; mother-in-law, Gloria Cox of Williston; niece, Terri Jo Moran of Minot; nephews, Devin and Dylan McGrath of Bottineau; grandfather, James Hummel of Garrison; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ethel Hummel, cousin, T.J. Bauer, and uncle, Myles Bauer.
