Tessie Mae (Kovarik) Lagge, 101 of Garrison, ND passed to her eternal home on November 20, 2017 at a nursing facility in Garrison, ND. Funeral services will held at 2:00 PM Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison with Pastor Janis Sloka officiating. Interment will be held in the Garrison City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Tessie was born to John and Myrtle (Turner) Kovarik on September 22, 1916 in Blackwater Township near Garrison. She attended school in the Emmet area. On November 19, 1936 she married her forever husband, Edwin Lagge and they settled in the Emmet area. They farmed and raised livestock in the Emmet area where they also raised their six children. Edwin passed away in July of 1974. Tessie continued to live on the farm where she did what she loved, farming, caring for her many animals and her abundant gardens.

She always loved attending her grandchildren's basketball games and was awarded a plaque for being "Fan of the Year". Tessie entered the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison in her 90's where she enjoyed their many activities and made many friends.

Tessie is survived by her children, Gloria (Jim) Huston of Garrison, Deanna (Edward) Werner of Minot, Ronald (JoAnn) Lagge of Roseglen/Garrison, Wade (Lori) Lagge of Voltaire and Karen (Wayne) Aga of Minot; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; a sister, Mary Hansen of Garrison and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, a son and daughter-in-law Gary and Doris Lagge, a grandson Brent Werner, a great grandson Michael Werner,a son-in-law James Huston, two sisters and four brothers.
